We hope everyone is having a great week. Please find important updates and reminders for IPA families below:
School Start Time:
Please remember that classes start at 7:45. Students should be dropped off prior to 7:45 to be on-time to school. After 7:45, our staff no longer supervises drop off due to instructional responsibilities in the building.
Car Rider Line:
Please remember that all students being dropped off in the morning should be dropped off using the car rider line. Once families enter the car rider line, they must pull up to the designated drop off area to unload their students. Please do not unload your students on the blacktop area to avoid the line.
It is also very important that all cars follow the designated traffic flow to prevent potential car accidents. We kindly ask that you refrain from cutting across the lot if you see the line is short.
6-8 Tardies:
We are closely monitoring tardies for our students in grades 6-8. Beginning next Tuesday, we will review the weekly tardies for all students and any student with 4 or more tardies for the prior week will be assigned a Thursday after school detention from 2:30-3:00. Students will be notifying their parents of the cosequnce they have earned after speaking to administrators in the office. Families will be responsbile for picking up their students after school due to the detention. We hope this consequence will deter our students from being excessively tardy to classes during the day.
Soul Night:
IPA will be celebrating the end of Black History Month with Soul Night on Wedensday, February 28, 2024 from 6-7:30. Please find the flyer attached below for the event.
Picking Up Students Early From School:
We understand that families sometimes need to pick their students up early from school. If you need to pick up your student early, please do so prior to 2:20. After 2:20 our dismissal processes have already begun and it is too chaotic to retrieve students during that time. We appreciate your understanding with this matter.
Conferences:
Family teacher conferences will be on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4-8 and Friday, March 8 from 8-11. Please be on the lookout for communications from your student's teacher(s) so that you can sign up for conferences.
Spring Break:
Spring break will be March 7- March 15 for students. Classes will resume on Monday, March 18, 2024.
8th Grade Promotion:
Since IPA is a K-8 school, we host promotion at the end of eighth grade. We will have more information in the coming weeks about the date and time for eighth grade promotion in May.
Early Dismissal:
March 4, 2024 is an early out for students. Students will be dismissed two hours early from school. Bus riders will arrive to their stops two hours earlier than normal.
