Good afternoon, IPA families,

Winter break is just two days away! We wanted to send some family reminders out to help you prepare for winter break and our return in January.

Early Dismissal:

IPA will dismiss at 2:05 on Thursday, December 21 and Friday, December 22. All busers will arrive home 30 minutes earlier than normal.

Winter Break:

Winter break is Monday, December 25, 2023 through January 9, 2024. Students return for classes on Wendesday, January 10. IPA will be closed to the public from Monday, December 25, 2023 through Friday, January 5, 2024.

Report Cards:

All K-5 families should have received their first quarter report cards electronically earlier this week. We apologize for the technology issues that delayed report cards. All K-8 families can expect second quarter report cards to be sent electronically on January 17, 2024.

Language Testing:

Our multilingual learners will all be taking language tests throughout January and February. Our students who are learning English will be taking the state mandated ACCESS test. Our students who are learning Spanish, or are fully bilingual, will be taking the STAMP exam for Spanish language acquisition. Both tests are important for students. The ACCESS test demonstrates how our students grow in their English language acquisition each year and is used to generate our school rating each year by the state. The STAMP test is used to determine how students are growing in their Spanish language acquisition and is used for Spanish high school placement for our current eighth graders. Please remind all students to do their best on these tests.

Families of studnets who take the ACCESS test can find an informative letter attached below.

Martin Luther King Jr Holiday:

There is no school on Monday, January 15, 2024 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.

District Level Communications:

We want to wish everyone a safe and heahtly winter break for you and your families. We look forward to seeing everyone back at IPA on January 10!

Best regards,

Jonathan Kosovski and the IPA team
