Pruebas de MAP:
Todos los estudiantes de K-8 tendrán pruebas MAP la próxima semana para la evaluación comparativa de fin de año. Recuerde a los estudiantes que deben tomarse su tiempo en estas pruebas y hacer todo lo posible para que podamos usar la información para satisfacer mejor sus necesidades. Los puntajes se compartirán con las familias a fines de mayo cuando se envíen las boletas de calificaciones a casa.
Actualización sobre la faringitis estreptocócica:
Consulte la hoja informativa para padres adjunta del IDPH sobre el estreptococo. Están observando un aumento en los casos de estreptococo, particularmente el estreptococo A, que está causando enfermedades graves y hospitalizaciones en los niños. Recuerde mantener a su estudiante en casa si está enfermo y hacer que lo evalúen si presenta algún síntoma de estreptococo. Si a su estudiante se le diagnostica estreptococo, deberá tomar antibióticos y no tener fiebre (sin medicamentos para reducir la fiebre) durante al menos 24 horas, además de experimentar una mejoría de los síntomas antes de regresar a la escuela.
Actualización de la conjuntivitis:
Los casos de ojo rosado (conjuntivitis) han ido en aumento. Si su hijo desarrolla alguno de los síntomas que se enumeran a continuación, le recomendamos que lo mantenga en casa y consulte a un médico sobre el diagnóstico y el tratamiento.
Signos y síntomas de la conjuntivitis:
Rosa o enrojecimiento de los ojos.
Lagrimeo o secreción de los ojos.
Dolor de ojo
Puede acompañar a otros signos de resfriados o enfermedades
Método de transmisión:
La conjuntivitis se contagia por contacto directo con la secreción del ojo infectado o al tocar superficies que han sido contaminadas por las secreciones del ojo del niño. Tocarse el ojo con las manos sucias es una forma común de que los virus y las bacterias entren en el ojo.
Los estudiantes deberán ser excluidos de la escuela hasta 24 horas después del tratamiento o hasta que un médico los examine y aprueben su readmisión a la escuela.
Clínicas de salud para exámenes físicos/vacunas:
Encuentre volantes a continuación para las próximas clínicas de vacunación/físicos que se llevarán a cabo en la comunidad. Todos los estudiantes que ingresan al jardín de infantes, sexto grado o que son nuevos en el distrito deben tener la documentación de salud adecuada, incluidas las vacunas y un examen físico escolar.

Early Out May 1:
All students will be dismissed two hours early on Monday, May 1, 2023.
MAP Testing:
All K-8 students will have MAP testing this upcoming week for end of year benchmarking. Please remind students that they should take their time on these tests and do their best so that we can use the information to best meet their needs. Scores will be shared with families at the end of May when report cards are sent home.
Strep Throat Update:
Please see the attached Parent Fact Sheet from IDPH regarding strep. They are observing an increase in cases of strep, particularly strep A which is causing serious illness and hospitalizations in children. Please remember to keep your student home if they are ill and have them evaluated if they are exhibiting any symptoms of strep. If your student is diagnosed with strep they will need to be on an antibiotic and fever free (without fever reducing medication) for at least 24 hours, as well as experiencing symptom improvement before returning to school.
Pink Eye Update:
Cases of pink eye (conjunctivitis) have been increasing. If your child develops any of the symptoms listed below, you are urged to keep your child home and consult a physician regarding diagnosis and treatment.
Signs and Symptoms of Pink Eye:
Pink or redness of the eyes
Watering or discharge from the eyes
Eye pain
May accompany other signs of colds or illness
Method of Transmission:
Pink eye is spread by direct contact with discharge from the infected eye, or by touching surfaces that have been contaminated by the secretions from the child’s eye. Touching one’s eye with unwashed hands is a common way for viruses and bacteria to enter the eye.
Students will need to be excluded from school until 24 hours after treatment or until examined by a physician and approved for readmission to school.
